There is a lot of information out there! Seek and you will find. Here are a few we found.

The Dyckman Farmhouse Museum (DFM) is a nonprofit organization committed to engaging the Inwood community and beyond with topics near and dear to BOBB.

We strongly recommend checking out the discussion on Fashion, Race, Identity, and Power: Black Dandy Beginnings with Monica Miller, Professor of English and Africana Studies. Click the image below for more!

The Dyckman Farmhouse Museum facilitated conversations on race. The organization put together a series of talks with experts, each looking at the topic of race from a different perspective. "Our hope is that we can all come together, learn from one another, and to continue the conversation." DFM

Combating Aversive Racism

Aversive Racism is defined as: the manifestation of racism that well-intentioned people who see themselves as educated and progressive are more likely to exhibit.

I share this to give you the opportunity to rise above the thoughts in your mind that imprison you and others by limiting thoughts. Here is a quote from Omowale Akintunde to articulate: “Racism is a systemic, societal, institutional, omnipresent, and epistemologically embedded phenomenon that pervades every vestige of our reality. “

Our goal is to increase positive communication outcomes. The Interactive Guide to Overcoming Aversive Racism houses a collection of phrases that are typically used to convey one's racial innocence or anti-racist inclination. We invite you to explore the guide and use it to educate yourself and others.
